Biography:
D-O (pronounced "Dee-Oh") is a small, excitable droid introduced in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. He is a one-wheeled droid, visually cobbled together from spare parts and possessing a cone-shaped head that houses his primary processing unit.
D-O was originally owned by Ochi of Bestoon, a Sith assassin and the one who killed Rey's parents. He served as Ochi's personal droid, documenting his journeys and, likely, storing valuable information. Ochi's cruel treatment left D-O damaged and fearful, causing him to initially distrust new companions.
After Ochi's death, D-O remained hidden on his ship until Poe Dameron, Finn, and Rey discovered him. BB-8 helped D-O overcome his apprehension, allowing him to reveal vital data regarding the location of Exegol, the hidden Sith world. This information proved crucial to the Resistance's fight against the resurrected Emperor Palpatine.
Despite his small size and timid nature, D-O played a significant role in the Resistance's victory, highlighting the importance of even the seemingly insignificant in the face of overwhelming evil.
