Biography:
General Glory, a DC Comics character, is a patriotic superhero whose Golden Age origins are a fabrication. Created by Keith Giffen, J.M. DeMatteis, and Kevin Maguire, Glory first appeared in Justice League International #46 (1991).
His real name is Ernest E. Earnest, a former soldier who deeply admired the fictional World War II hero, General Glory. He meticulously crafted a false history, claiming to be the original Glory, fighting alongside heroes like the Justice Society. He even staged elaborate battles to maintain the illusion.
Glory's powers are derived from a staged encounter with a "magical" object, granting him enhanced strength, speed, and stamina. He is also intensely naive and believes wholeheartedly in traditional American values, often to comedic effect. His appearances typically involve misunderstandings and accidental heroism, contrasting sharply with the cynicism prevalent in the Justice League International. Though a parody, Glory represents a genuine desire for heroism, albeit fueled by delusion.
