Kurapika is a central character in the anime series Hunter x Hunter. He is the sole survivor of the Kurta Clan, who were massacred for their unique and valuable Scarlet Eyes, which turn a vibrant red when they experience strong emotions.

Driven by revenge, Kurapika seeks to retrieve the stolen eyes of his clan and bring the Phantom Troupe, the group responsible for the massacre, to justice. This singular goal consumes him, often leading him to make difficult and morally ambiguous decisions.

To achieve his aims, Kurapika becomes a Hunter, gaining access to resources and information that would otherwise be unavailable. He specializes in Conjuration Nen, allowing him to create chains that are specifically effective against the Phantom Troupe, although some can only be used on them or his life is forfeit.

Despite his intense focus on vengeance, Kurapika displays moments of compassion and loyalty towards his friends, recognizing the importance of human connection even in the face of overwhelming grief and hatred.
