Yoriichi Tsugikuni is a pivotal figure in the manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is considered the strongest Demon Slayer to ever exist, and the creator of the Sun Breathing technique.
Born with a unique birthmark and exceptional physical abilities, Yoriichi was initially seen as an anomaly. He developed Sun Breathing, the original breathing style that all other techniques are derived from. His skills far surpassed any other slayer of his time.
Yoriichi dedicated his life to eradicating demons, and nearly defeated Muzan Kibutsuji, the original demon, multiple times. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he failed to completely destroy Muzan.
His brother, Michikatsu Tsugikuni, consumed by envy and a desire for power, eventually became a demon himself, known as Kokushibo. This betrayal deeply affected Yoriichi.
Despite his immense power and dedication, Yoriichi died of old age, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence the Demon Slayer Corps. His Sun Breathing technique, though largely lost, remains the key to defeating Muzan.
