Hantengu is a powerful antagonist from the manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a high-ranking demon serving directly under Muzan Kibutsuji, holding the Upper Rank Four position, though his true power fluctuates.

His defining ability is the power to split himself into multiple distinct clones, each embodying a different emotion: Sekido (Wrath), Karaku (Enjoyment), Aizetsu (Sorrow), and Urogi (Pleasure). These clones possess unique appearances, personalities, and demon blood arts, making Hantengu a formidable and unpredictable opponent.

Initially, Hantengu appears as an elderly, cowardly figure, prone to exaggerated fear and self-pity. This is, however, a facade hiding his true nature. The core body, often referred to as "Hantengu's Main Body," possesses the ability to regenerate from even the smallest remnant of his clones, making him exceptionally difficult to kill.

Beyond the initial four emotions, Hantengu can further combine his clones to create more powerful forms like Zohakuten (Hatred), demonstrating an adaptive and dangerous capacity for growth in battle. His backstory reveals a history of violent crime and a twisted perception of himself as a victim, further illustrating the corrupting influence of Muzan's blood and the dark nature of demons in the Demon Slayer universe.
