Odin Borson, often simply referred to as Odin, is a pivotal figure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He is the Allfather of Asgard, the King of Asgard, and protector of the Nine Realms. He's known for his vast wisdom, immense power, and strategic leadership.
Odin earned his reputation leading Asgardian forces in countless battles, most notably against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. He brokered a truce with them after a devastating war, adopting the infant Loki, son of Laufey, King of the Frost Giants, hoping to foster peace.
His sons are Thor, the God of Thunder, and Loki, the God of Mischief. Odin raised both, preparing Thor to inherit the throne, while concealing Loki's true heritage for a time.
As his power waned, Odin entered a state of "Odinsleep" to replenish his strength. He faced challenges from within Asgard and threats from beyond, struggling to maintain peace across the realms and prepare his sons for their destinies. Odin eventually passed away, leading to the release of Hela, his firstborn daughter, and triggering the events of Ragnarok.
