Sersi is a prominent member of the Eternals, a race of powerful, cosmic beings created by the Celestials in Marvel Comics. Unlike many of her aloof kin, Sersi possesses a deep love for humanity and actively integrates herself into human society.

Sersi has been a member of the Avengers and has had romantic relationships with both human and Eternal partners, most notably Dane Whitman, the Black Knight. Her impulsive nature and strong emotions have often put her at odds with the more stoic Eternals, particularly Ikaris, adding to her complex character.
