Biography:
Blight is the supervillain Derek Powers in the DC Comics universe, primarily appearing in the animated series Batman Beyond. Powers was the corrupt CEO of Powers Technology, a company heavily involved in dangerous and unethical practices.
During a hostile takeover attempt by Bruce Wayne, Powers exposed himself to a nerve gas he was developing, rendering him highly radioactive. To survive, he subjected himself to a dangerous radiation treatment that warped his body, giving him a skeletal appearance and the ability to emit lethal radiation.
As Blight, Powers becomes a formidable and deadly adversary to the new Batman, Terry McGinnis. He struggles to control his radiation emissions and maintain a semblance of his former life while engaging in criminal activities and attempts to regain control of his company. His primary motivation is self-preservation and a lust for power, made even more dangerous by his unstable and volatile condition.
His weakness is that his powers will slowly kill him. He requires constant treatments to stay alive.
