Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Taishi Ci, courtesy name Ziyi, was a valiant warrior who lived during the late Eastern Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. He is best known for his service under the warlord Liu Yao and later under Sun Ce, founder of the Wu kingdom.

Early in his career, Taishi Ci gained renown for his bravery when he single-handedly broke through enemy lines to request aid for Kong Rong, then under siege in Beihai. This act of loyalty and courage solidified his reputation.

After serving Liu Yao, Taishi Ci eventually submitted to Sun Ce after a fierce battle. Impressed by Taishi Ci's skill and character, Sun Ce appointed him to important military positions.

Taishi Ci was a skilled archer and horseman, known for his prowess in battle. He tragically died at a young age, lamented for his unfulfilled potential. Legend says his dying words were “A true man should die on the battlefield!"
