Poggle the Lesser was the leader of the Geonosians, an insectoid species native to the planet Geonosis, during the Clone Wars era of the Star Wars galaxy. He held the title of Archduke and oversaw the vast droid factories on Geonosis.

A shrewd and pragmatic leader, Poggle the Lesser aligned the Geonosians with the Separatist movement, led by Count Dooku. His participation proved crucial to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, providing them with a seemingly endless supply of battle droids.

Poggle was instrumental in the creation of the Death Star plans, originally conceived and designed on Geonosis. These plans, vital to the Galactic Empire's future, were entrusted to him before being seized by the Rebellion.

His involvement with the Separatists ultimately led to his demise during the Clone Wars. He was killed on Mustafar by Anakin Skywalker as part of Order 66, which eliminated key Separatist leaders.
