The Creeper is the alter ego of Jack Ryder, a television journalist in Gotham City. He first appeared in *Showcase* #73 (March 1968).
Ryder gained his transformation abilities through an experimental device created by Professor Vincent Yatz. While investigating a gangster, Ryder was equipped with a device that allowed him to instantly transform into the Creeper.
As the Creeper, Ryder possesses enhanced strength, agility, and a manic, unpredictable personality. His appearance is marked by bright yellow skin, green hair, red eyes, and a wide, disturbing grin. He often uses laughter as a weapon to disorient his opponents.
