Josep "Pep" Guardiola Sala is a highly successful Spanish football manager and former player, widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time.
Born in Santpedor, Spain, he spent the majority of his playing career as a defensive midfielder for Barcelona, where he was a key member of Johan Cruyff's "Dream Team" in the 1990s. He also played for Brescia, Roma, Al-Ahli, and Dorados de Sinaloa before retiring in 2006.
Guardiola began his managerial career with Barcelona B, before taking over the first team in 2008. During his four seasons at Barcelona, he won 14 major trophies, including two Champions League titles and three La Liga titles.
He then managed Bayern Munich from 2013 to 2016, winning three consecutive Bundesliga titles. Since 2016, Guardiola has been the manager of Manchester City, where he has led the club to multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, and League Cups. He secured a historic treble in 2023, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League.
Known for his tactical innovation, possession-based style of play ("tiki-taka"), and demanding coaching methods, Guardiola's teams are admired for their attacking football and dominant performances.
