Tiger Shark, whose real name is Todd Arliss, is a Marvel Comics supervillain and occasional anti-hero. He was originally an Olympic-level swimmer who suffered a career-ending injury.
Desperate to regain his athletic prowess, Arliss volunteered for an experimental procedure developed by Dr. Dorcas. This process combined Arliss's DNA with that of a tiger shark and Namor the Sub-Mariner.
The procedure was successful, but it drastically altered Arliss, both physically and mentally. He gained the physical attributes of a tiger shark, including enhanced strength, speed, and razor-sharp teeth and claws. He also became more aggressive and predatory.
As Tiger Shark, Arliss has frequently clashed with heroes like Namor, the Avengers, and Spider-Man. He often seeks power and control over the seas, making him a formidable threat. Although primarily a villain, he has occasionally shown a capacity for anti-heroism, particularly when it suits his own interests.
