Chef, whose real name is Jerome McElroy, is a fictional character from the animated television series *South Park*. Voiced primarily by Isaac Hayes, Chef served as the elementary school's cook and a source of often sexually suggestive, soul-influenced advice for the main characters, Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny.

Chef's character is known for his deep baritone voice and his trademark Chef Aid apron. He frequently dispenses wisdom, though his advice often comes in the form of songs filled with innuendo that usually go over the heads of the children. He's often depicted as a ladies' man and possesses a strong, albeit sometimes misguided, moral compass.

The character of Chef was retired from *South Park* following controversy surrounding Isaac Hayes' departure after an episode satirized Scientology, of which Hayes was a prominent member. The show subsequently killed off the character in a memorable, albeit controversial, fashion.
