Biography:

Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, is Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appears in the film *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* (2014).

Wilson is a former pararescue airman who specialized in using a winged jet pack in combat situations. Haunted by the loss of his wingman, Riley, he dedicated himself to helping other veterans cope with PTSD. He befriends Steve Rogers, and assists him in taking down HYDRA.

After Rogers retires, he chooses Wilson to become the next Captain America, passing him his shield. Wilson initially struggles with the weight of this responsibility, explored in the Disney+ series *The Falcon and The Winter Soldier*. He ultimately accepts the mantle, embracing his role as the new Captain America.
