Biography:
Twisty the Clown is a fictional character from the FX anthology horror television series, American Horror Story: Freak Show. He is one of the primary antagonists of the season.
Played by John Carroll Lynch, Twisty is depicted as a physically imposing and mentally disturbed clown terrorizing Jupiter, Florida, in 1952. He wears a grotesque mask, initially to hide a disfigured jaw caused by a failed suicide attempt after being falsely accused of child molestation. He's fueled by a twisted desire to "save" children he perceives as neglected by their parents.
Twisty kidnaps children and adults, holding them captive in an abandoned bus while attempting to entertain them with his disturbing acts. His character is notable for his brutal violence and unsettling demeanor, making him one of the more memorable and terrifying figures in the American Horror Story franchise.
Prior to his villainous turn, Twisty had been a genuinely happy clown, entertaining children. The false accusations and subsequent banishment are depicted as the catalysts for his descent into madness and monstrous behavior.
