Xu Shang-Chi, most commonly known as Shang-Chi, is a prominent character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Debuting in the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Shang-Chi is portrayed by actor Simu Liu. He is the son of Xu Wenwu, the leader of the Ten Rings organization. Shang-Chi was trained from a young age to be a deadly assassin but later abandoned that life to live a normal existence in San Francisco.

The film follows Shang-Chi as he is drawn back into his father's world and confronts his past, ultimately battling his father to prevent him from unleashing a dangerous threat. He gains control of the Ten Rings, powerful mystical artifacts, taking up his destiny as a hero.
