Big Bird is a central character on the long-running children's television program, Sesame Street. He is an eight-foot-two-inch tall bright yellow bird.
Created by Jim Henson and originally performed by Caroll Spinney from 1969 until 2018, Big Bird is known for his childlike innocence, boundless curiosity, and optimistic outlook. He is portrayed as a naive, yet lovable, six-year-old.
