Biography:
Captain Archibald Haddock, a central character in *The Adventures of Tintin* comic series by Hergé, is a gruff, often inebriated, but ultimately loyal and brave seafaring captain.
He is introduced in *The Crab with the Golden Claws* as a drunken captain unknowingly being used by criminals. Tintin rescues him, and they subsequently form a close bond, with Haddock becoming Tintin's closest friend and sidekick.
