Chaos Zero, also known simply as Chaos, is a prominent antagonist in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. He is the initial form of Chaos, a powerful, ancient being.

Chaos Zero first appeared in the 1998 game Sonic Adventure. In the game's narrative, he begins as WM, an amorphous, water-like entity. This form is relatively weak and easily defeated by Sonic.

Chaos is the Guardian of the Chao. He seeks to absorb the seven Chaos Emeralds to achieve his Perfect Chaos form, driven by a deep-seated anger towards those who threatened the Chao and his connection to the Master Emerald.
