Barbara Minerva, also known as Cheetah, is a DC character who gained prominence within the DC Extended Universe through her appearance in the movie Wonder Woman 1984.
In Wonder Woman 1984, Dr. Barbara Minerva is portrayed as a gemologist and archaeologist working at the Smithsonian Museum, initially presented as an insecure and clumsy individual. Her desire to be like Wonder Woman leads her to make a wish on the Dreamstone, unintentionally granting herself superhuman abilities but also starting a transformation into the Cheetah.
As the film progresses, Minerva's powers grow, but at the cost of her humanity. She becomes increasingly aggressive and animalistic, eventually fully transforming into the Cheetah, Wonder Woman's formidable adversary. This version of Barbara Minerva, as Cheetah, first appeared in Wonder Woman 1984.
