Biography:
Ao Bing is a prominent character in the classic Chinese novel, Investiture of the Gods (also known as Fengshen Yanyi). He is the third son of Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea.
Ao Bing is depicted as arrogant and cruel, abusing his power as a dragon prince. He demands tributes and causes trouble for the human inhabitants near the Eastern Sea. His most infamous act is killing a child named Li Gen after Li Gen fails to pay him tribute and then subsequently killing Li Gen's friend, Nezha, after Nezha seeks revenge.
His death comes at the hands of the young Nezha, who dispatches Ao Bing in a battle beneath the sea, removing his dragon tendons. This act enrages Ao Guang and sets in motion a chain of events that involve the dragon kings threatening to flood Chen Tang Pass, escalating into a larger conflict involving deities and mortals.
