Ben Solo, later known as Kylo Ren, is a central character in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. He first appears in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
Born to Leia Organa and Han Solo, Ben possessed a strong connection to the Force. He was sent to Luke Skywalker to train as a Jedi. However, he was seduced by the dark side under the influence of Supreme Leader Snoke.
Adopting the name Kylo Ren, he became a commander in the First Order, emulating his grandfather Darth Vader. He struggles throughout the sequels with the conflict between the light and dark sides within him. In Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker, Ben Solo redeems himself, helping Rey defeat Emperor Palpatine and sacrificing himself to save her.
