Maris Brood was a female Zabrak Jedi Padawan who survived the Great Jedi Purge. Trained by Jedi Master Shaak Ti, she became deeply connected to the Force and its healing properties.
Following Order 66, Shaak Ti took Maris to the planet Felucia, hoping to hide her from the Empire. However, the dark side energies of Felucia began to corrupt Maris, slowly poisoning her mind and turning her to the dark side.
Years later, Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice, was sent to Felucia to eliminate Maris and Shaak Ti. While he ultimately killed Shaak Ti, Maris escaped, becoming a formidable Force user corrupted by the dark side, wielding her lightsabers with a savage and unpredictable style.
Later, Starkiller confronts Maris once more. He defeats her and uses the Force to cleanse the dark side corruption, freeing her. She is then left to choose her own path after her experiences, her fate remaining ambiguous.
