Lumiya, born Shira Brie, was a complex and formidable figure in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, later rebranded as Legends. Initially appearing as a Rebel pilot during the Galactic Civil War, she infiltrated Luke Skywalker's circle under the guise of a loyal ally. However, she was secretly working as an Imperial spy, manipulated by Darth Vader.
Her deception was eventually revealed, leading to a confrontation with Luke. During this encounter, she sustained severe injuries. Darth Vader recovered her and subjected her to extensive cybernetic reconstruction, transforming her into a cyborg.
After the Emperor's death, Lumiya embraced the dark side, becoming a powerful Dark Lady of the Sith. She wielded a lightwhip instead of a lightsaber, a weapon composed of energy strands. Lumiya trained Jacen Solo (later Darth Caedus) in the dark side arts, significantly impacting the events of the Legacy of the Force series. Her actions and influence shaped the galaxy long after the fall of the Empire.
