Atris was a Jedi Master, historian, and archivist within the Jedi Order of the Old Republic era. She served on the Jedi Council and held considerable influence due to her extensive knowledge and unwavering dedication to Jedi principles.

Following the Mandalorian Wars, Atris became increasingly disillusioned with the Jedi Order's perceived failures. She believed their detachment from the galaxy's suffering led to their inability to prevent the conflict and the subsequent rise of the Sith.

In secret, Atris established a hidden Jedi academy on the planet Telos IV. There, she gathered artifacts and knowledge pertaining to the Force, including forbidden Sith teachings. Her goal was to preserve Jedi history and understand the weaknesses that led to the Jedi Civil War.

Driven by a belief that the Jedi Order could be rebuilt stronger, Atris made choices that strayed from the Jedi path, ultimately leading to her own fall to the dark side and her eventual confrontation with the Jedi Exile.
