Reverend Timothy Lovejoy is a prominent recurring character in the animated TV show, The Simpsons. He serves as the earnest, albeit sometimes world-weary, pastor of the First Church of Springfield.
Reverend Lovejoy first appeared in the episode "The Telltale Head," which aired on February 25, 1990, as part of the first season of The Simpsons. He is voiced by Harry Shearer.
Initially portrayed as a sincere and dedicated clergyman, Lovejoy's character evolved over the series.
