Scooby-Doo

The Mummy is a recurring villain archetype in the Scooby-Doo franchise. Rather than being a singular character, the Mummy is a disguise often adopted by various criminals and antagonists to scare people and further their schemes.

One of the earliest and most recognizable Mummy appearances is in the episode "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" (1969) titled "Scooby's Night With a Frozen Fright." In this episode, the Mummy is portrayed as a museum curator attempting to scare people away from a valuable collection so he can steal it. The Mummy is often depicted in a similar fashion throughout the various series and movies.

Mummy characters typically feature the classic bandaged appearance and often shuffle or limp to add to their menacing presence. The Mummy's identity is always unmasked at the end of the episode, revealing a human culprit behind the elaborate costume.
