Admiral Motti was an officer in the Imperial Navy during the reign of the Galactic Empire. He served as a high-ranking member of the Imperial command structure aboard the first Death Star.

Motti was known for his unwavering belief in the power of the Death Star. He dismissed the Force as an "ancient religion" and scoffed at its relevance in the face of Imperial technology. This arrogant dismissal would prove ironic, as his skepticism was countered by Darth Vader who famously used the Force to choke Motti when he challenged Vader's faith in it.

Ultimately, Motti's overconfidence in the Death Star's invincibility proved fatal. He was present in the battle station's control room when it was destroyed by Luke Skywalker during the Battle of Yavin, ensuring his demise along with countless other Imperial personnel.
