Demogoblin is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as an adversary of Spider-Man and other heroes.
He originated as a demonic counterpart to the Hobgoblin. Originally, he was Jason Macendale, then Hobgoblin, who bonded with a demon during the "Inferno" storyline. This merging transformed him into a zealously religious and fanatical being.
Demogoblin believes sinners should be punished and often uses violent and destructive methods in his warped quest for righteousness. He considers most people, including superheroes, to be impure. He eschews traditional Goblin technology, instead relying on demonic powers such as hellfire, a flaming glider, and pumpkin bombs.
His appearances often involve clashes with Spider-Man, Hobgoblin (eventually Roderick Kingsley again), and other heroes due to his destructive and often unprovoked attacks on perceived "sinners." He's a dangerous and unpredictable character whose twisted sense of morality makes him a formidable foe.
