Mai is a recurring character in the Dragon Ball franchise, primarily serving as a loyal and capable subordinate to Emperor Pilaf. She first appeared in the original Dragon Ball series as a member of the Pilaf Gang, consistently scheming to conquer the world and seize the Dragon Balls.
Mai is depicted as intelligent and resourceful, often acting as the strategist and primary combatant of the Pilaf Gang. While her plans typically fail due to the interference of Goku and his allies, she exhibits surprising competence with technology and weaponry.
