Shang-Chi is a Marvel Cinematic Universe character introduced in the 2021 film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He is portrayed by actor Simu Liu.
He is the son of Xu Wenwu, the powerful and immortal leader of the Ten Rings organization. Shang-Chi was trained from a young age to be a formidable assassin.
Seeking to escape his father's influence and past, Shang-Chi fled to America, where he adopted the name "Shaun" and lived a normal life as a valet. However, he is forced to confront his past when the Ten Rings begin hunting him for a pendant his mother gave him.
