Theme:
Games
Biography:
Kla is a fictional character from the 1967 novel Games by Michael Winner, later adapted into a psychological thriller film in 1967, also titled *Games*, directed by Winner.
In both the novel and film, Kla is portrayed as a mysterious and seductive German woman in her late twenties, played by Simone Signoret. She unexpectedly enters the lives of Paul and Jennifer Montgomery, a wealthy New York couple who enjoy elaborate role-playing games.
Kla initially presents herself as a temporary maid, hired through an agency. However, her presence quickly disrupts the couple's dynamic, leading to increasingly unsettling and dangerous games that blur the lines between reality and fiction.
Kla's true motivations remain ambiguous throughout the story, leaving the audience to question whether she is a manipulative interloper, a victim of circumstance, or something else entirely. Her complex and enigmatic nature is central to the suspense and psychological tension of Games.
