Magma, first appearing in New Mutants #8 (October 1983), is a Marvel Comics character.

Amara Juliana Olivians Aguas, also known as Magma, is a mutant with the ability to control lava and geothermal energy. A native of Nova Roma, a hidden city in the Amazon rainforest, Amara's powers manifest when she is kidnapped and forced to fight in a gladiatorial arena.

She is rescued by the New Mutants and joins their team, learning to control her abilities and adapt to the modern world. Magma's powers grant her the ability to generate and manipulate lava, create volcanic eruptions, and transform her body into a molten state.
