Michael Diamond, better known as Mike D, is an American musician, producer, and one-third of the influential hip-hop group, the Beastie Boys.
Born in New York City, Mike D co-founded the Beastie Boys in 1978, initially as a hardcore punk band. They transitioned to hip-hop in the early 1980s, becoming pioneers of the genre, known for their innovative sampling, energetic performances, and humor.
As a member of the Beastie Boys, Mike D contributed significantly to their albums, including the groundbreaking "Licensed to Ill" (1986), "Paul's Boutique" (1989), and "Check Your Head" (1992). He often served as the group's drummer and vocalist.
