Mas Amedda is a Chagrian male who served in a prominent political role during the final years of the Galactic Republic and the subsequent Galactic Empire. He first appears in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
Initially serving as Vice Chancellor under Supreme Chancellor Valorum, Amedda remained in a position of considerable power throughout Palpatine's rise. His smooth political acumen ensured the continuity of the Senate during the Republic's final years.
Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire, Amedda became Grand Vizier, the chief administrator of the Imperial government. In this role, he served as a key advisor to Emperor Palpatine, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Empire and ensuring the Emperor's directives were carried out. His loyalty to Palpatine was unwavering.
After the Emperor's death, Mas Amedda took on a major role in the Imperial Ruling Council, but ultimately surrendered the Empire to the New Republic.
