Biography:
Liberty Belle is a superhero identity used by multiple characters in DC Comics. The original Liberty Belle is Elizabeth "Libby" Lawrence. She debuted in Boy Commandos #1 (Winter 1942).
Libby Lawrence gained her powers after touching the Liberty Bell, granting her super-strength, invulnerability, and the ability to generate a sonic "Liberty Bell" that could shatter objects or stun opponents. She primarily operated during World War II, fighting alongside the All-Star Squadron.
Later in the comic books we are introduced to Jesse Chambers, Libby's daughter, who inherits her mother's powers. Jesse also takes on the Liberty Belle mantle, eventually developing speed powers similar to her father, Johnny Quick.
Both characters have been portrayed as strong, independent women dedicated to fighting for freedom and justice.
