Biography:
Obsidian, also known as Todd Rice, is a DC Comics superhero. He is the biological son of Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern, and the villainess Rose Canton (also known as Thorn). His twin sister is Jade.
Due to their mother's unstable mental state and fear of her powers, Todd and Jade were separated at birth and raised in foster care. Todd experienced a difficult childhood, eventually learning of his parentage and discovering his own powers.
Obsidian possesses the ability to merge with his own shadow, allowing him to become a living shadow with control over darkness. He can travel through shadows, increase his size and strength, and even possess others by merging with their shadows.
He is a member of various superhero teams, most notably Infinity, Inc. and the Justice Society of America (JSA). He has struggled with his mental health and the potential for his shadow powers to corrupt him, leading to periods of villainy and redemption.
