Tommy Stinson is an American rock musician best known for his long tenure as the bassist for the Replacements.
Born in 1966, Stinson joined the Replacements at the age of 12, replacing original bassist and joining Paul Westerberg and his brother Bob Stinson. He remained with the band until their breakup in 1991, contributing his signature basslines to their influential albums like "Let It Be" and "Tim."
Following the Replacements' demise, Stinson formed the band Bash & Pop and later Perfect. He also joined Guns N' Roses in 1998, remaining a member until 2016 and appearing on their album "Chinese Democracy."
In addition to his band work, Stinson has pursued a solo career, releasing albums such as "Village Gorilla Head." He also reunited with Paul Westerberg for a Replacements reunion tour in the 2010s. Stinson continues to be an active musician, playing solo and with various projects.
