Axl Rose (born William Bruce Rose Jr., February 6, 1962) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He's best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, achieving global fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Rose's powerful and wide vocal range, combined with his energetic and often controversial stage presence, became a defining element of Guns N' Roses' sound and image. The band's debut album, Appetite for Destruction (1987), remains one of the best-selling debut albums of all time.
Beyond Guns N' Roses, Rose briefly fronted AC/DC in 2016 during Brian Johnson's hearing loss. He has often been associated with periods of inactivity and public disputes, but continues to tour and record with Guns N' Roses' reformed lineup.
