Ant-Man is a superhero identity used by multiple characters in Marvel Comics. This response focuses on Scott Lang, the second character to use the name.

Scott Lang was originally an electronics expert and thief. Driven by the need to save his daughter Cassie from a serious heart condition, he broke into the home of Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and stole the Ant-Man suit and shrinking technology.

After successfully using the suit to rescue a doctor who could save Cassie, Lang intended to return the suit. However, Pym allowed him to keep it, believing Lang was using it for good. He sanctioned Lang's use of the Ant-Man identity and powers.

Lang has since been a member of several superhero teams, including the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, and has battled numerous threats, both cosmic and terrestrial. He utilizes the Ant-Man suit's ability to shrink and grow in size, control ants, and his expertise in engineering and electronics to combat threats.
