Mass Master, also known as Klatt, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. He is a member of the U-Foes, a group of four individuals who gained powers similar to the Fantastic Four through unauthorized experimentation.
Klatt was a scientist aboard the spacecraft intended to duplicate the cosmic ray exposure that gave the Fantastic Four their abilities. Along with his colleagues, Simon Utrecht (Vector), Ann Darnell (Vapor), and James Darnell (X-Ray), Klatt underwent the procedure, resulting in unforeseen and dangerous transformations.
Klatt gained the ability to alter his body's mass. He can become incredibly dense and heavy, increasing his strength and durability, or become incredibly light, allowing him to float or even become intangible. This power makes him a formidable opponent, often used to overwhelm enemies through brute force or evade attacks by becoming nearly weightless.
As a member of the U-Foes, Mass Master has frequently clashed with the Hulk, often serving as one of his primary adversaries. He and his team typically operate with villainous intentions, seeking to prove their superiority and often engaging in acts of destruction and chaos.
