Nick Jakoby is a fictional Orc police officer in the 2017 Netflix film, Bright, and the animated Netflix series, Bright: Samurai Soul.
In Bright, Jakoby, portrayed by Joel Edgerton, is the first Orc to join the LAPD. He faces prejudice and discrimination from both human officers and Orc gangs due to his race and his profession, and his perceived inability to fit in.
He is partnered with human officer Daryl Ward (Will Smith), who initially distrusts him but eventually learns to respect and value him. Jakoby proves himself to be a loyal and courageous partner, dedicated to upholding the law despite the immense challenges he faces. He is willing to sacrifice himself for Ward.
