Sidney, often referred to as Sid, is a central character in the animated Ice Age film franchise. He first appeared in the original Ice Age movie in 2002.

Sid is a ground sloth known for his distinctive lisp, goofy demeanor, and unwavering loyalty to his friends, Manny the mammoth and Diego the saber-toothed tiger. He frequently finds himself in comical situations, often causing trouble despite his good intentions.

Over the course of the Ice Age movies, including Ice Age: Collision Course, Sid remains a constant source of comic relief. He forms strong bonds with the rest of the herd, evolving from a somewhat annoying and lonely character to a valued member of their unconventional family. He often attempts to take on leadership roles, which are quickly dismissed by the others.
