Kung Lao is a prominent character in the Mortal Kombat franchise. He is a Shaolin monk and a former member of the White Lotus Society, dedicated to protecting Earthrealm. He is also a descendant of the Great Kung Lao, a champion who was defeated by Goro, initiating the Mortal Kombat tournament.
