Officer K, portrayed by Ryan Gosling, is the protagonist of the 2017 science fiction film Blade Runner 2049. He is a Blade Runner working for the Los Angeles Police Department, tasked with retiring older model Nexus 8 replicants.

Known by his designation KD6-3.7, K is himself a replicant, possessing enhanced strength and resilience. His primary job involves hunting down and eliminating rogue replicants, a task he approaches with a detached professionalism, masking an underlying yearning for connection and meaning.

During a routine mission, K uncovers a secret that threatens the fragile peace between humans and replicants: the existence of a replicant capable of biological reproduction. This discovery sets him on a perilous journey to uncover the truth and understand his own identity.

His search leads him to Deckard, the protagonist of the original Blade Runner film, and ultimately forces him to confront the moral complexities of his existence and the nature of humanity itself.
