Vanellope von Schweetz is a fictional character first appearing in the animated film Wreck-It Ralph (2012). She is a glitch within the arcade racing game Sugar Rush, making her an outcast among the other racers.
Initially believed to be a mischievous troublemaker, Vanellope dreams of becoming a real racer and escaping her glitch. Her determination leads her to partner with Wreck-It Ralph, who helps her learn to race and fight for her place in Sugar Rush.
Later, the truth about Vanellope's origin is revealed: she is the rightful ruler of Sugar Rush, Princess Vanellope. Her memories were suppressed, and her throne was usurped by the villainous Turbo.
Vanellope's character continues to evolve in Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018), where she grapples with her desire for adventure beyond Sugar Rush, ultimately choosing to stay in the online game Slaughter Race.
