Biography:
Grant Emerson, also known as Damage, is a DC Comics superhero. He is the son of Al Pratt, the Golden Age Atom, though this was originally unknown to him.
Grant gained his powers during the Invasion! storyline when alien Gene Bombs activated a latent metagene. This granted him superhuman strength, invulnerability, and the ability to unleash massive concussive blasts of energy, causing significant collateral damage, hence his codename.
Initially, Grant struggled to control his powers and faced social isolation due to their destructive nature. He was a member of the Titans, later known as the Team Titans, and the Freedom Fighters. His parentage was revealed later in his career.
Damage has fluctuated in prominence over the years, sometimes appearing as a supporting character or as the focus of his own short-lived series. His powers have also varied slightly in their presentation and control.
