Jeremy Corbyn is a British politician, best known for his leadership of the Labour Party from 2015 to 2020. He was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, in 1949 and educated at Adams' Grammar School and North London Polytechnic.
Corbyn entered Parliament as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Islington North in 1983, a seat he held for over four decades. Throughout his parliamentary career before becoming leader, he was often seen as a backbench rebel, known for his left-wing views and advocacy for social justice, anti-war positions, and nationalization.
