Binary is a powerful superhero identity briefly adopted by Carol Danvers, primarily known as Captain Marvel, in the Marvel Comics universe.

Her transformation into Binary occurred after an encounter with the alien race known as the Brood. They experimented on her, ultimately unlocking dormant energy within her genetic structure linked to a white hole, a cosmic anomaly.

As Binary, Carol possessed immense cosmic power, including the ability to manipulate energy on a stellar scale, travel at light speed through space, and survive in the vacuum of space without assistance. She was essentially a living star.

This power surge, while incredibly potent, was difficult to control. After a period of cosmic adventures and assisting the Starjammers, Carol eventually lost most of the Binary power, though a fraction remains, enhancing her Captain Marvel abilities.
